New McIntosh hybrid Integrated Amplifier
Introducing McIntosh newest integrated amplifier with tube input stage model MA252 - now shipping.

The MA252 Integrated Amplifier is the first hybrid integrated amplifier from McIntosh. Taking retro design cues from the legendary McIntosh MC275 Vacuum Tube Amplifier, the MA252 combines the best of vacuum tube and solid state circuit design to create an amplifier that’s both visually and sonically stunning.

It uses two 12AX7a and two 12AT7 vacuum tubes house inside protective cages; the output stage is a direct coupled solid state amplifier that delivers 100 Watts per channel into 8 Ohm or 160 Watts into 4 Ohm.  Including 2 unbalanced, 1 balanced, moving magnet phono input and subwoofer out.  Also, how about the good old bass and treble controls? Included.

This morning Woody the McIntosh Rep stopped by with the MA252 Rep sample and with a short window of time, I quickly listened to the MA252.  Wow! Very impressive tonal balance, warmth, details, outstanding depth and pinpoint accuracy.  It  juiced up the Bowers and Wilkins 803D3s. with ease.  So If you are on the market for a smaller size 2-channel integrated amplifier with a touch of tube sound, all you need is add a source and speakers of your desire, voila!
